JOANNA
As a young musician, Joanna is always looking for opportunities to teach and perform. She is passionate to collaborate and work with different professionals.
Joanna started learning saxophone at Hong Kong Baptist Convention Primary School. She then continued her study in Music Office (Hong Kong) with Kevin Ling. After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Chinese language and literature, she started a new journey to explore herself with music. She then studied saxophone performance with Sarah Markham at the University of Sheffield, and graduated in Master of Music Performance Studies (MA) with distinction in 2018. She was also the recipient The Ralph Markham Achievement Award. This year in 2019, she finished her study of the Postgraduate Advanced Diploma (PGAD) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Gerard McChrystal and Melanie Henry, and Christian Forshaw as her mentor as part of the course. She also attained FTCL. At the moment she has performed in master classes and coaching classes of Nigel Woods, Kenny Tsai, Kyle Horch, Tim Mcallister and Yang Tong.
Recently, she gave a solo and duet performance in the Hong Kong City HalI in August 2019. In the past, she had solo performance in the Sheffield Firth Hall and the Sheffield Cathedral. She also performed in a Chamber Concert with the Music Office Saxophone Ensemble in 2013. She has been participating in ensembles including performances with saxophone quartet and saxophone choir in Trinity Laban, Hong Kong Youth Saxophone Choir and Holiday Sax (Hong Kong). In the past, she participated in The 11th ZhongSin international Music Competition (Hong Kong Zone) with her quartet and was awarded Chamber Music Group 1st runner-up. In 2017, she took part in the Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy in Bangkok with the Hong Kong Youth Saxophone Choir, and was awarded Champion of ensemble class. Sze is also an active member of symphonic band and wind orchestra and gained various performance experiences. In 2019, she took part in Symphonic Winds project at Trinity. She also performed with the Sheffield University Wind Orchestra in Cologne (Germany) in 2018. Before going to the UK, she joined the Chung Chi College Wind Orchestra of the Chinese University of Hong Kong for an exchange performance in China. And she was also a member of Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band, where she took part in international music festivals in Jeju (Korea) and Kagoshima (Japan).
She has experience in private teaching and instrument classes; she also performed in charity activities. Besides saxophone, Sze also plays piano and Dizi (Chinese bamboo flute), and was awarded silver medal in the Hong Kong International Dizi Invitation Tournament (amateur young and middle aged).
時珮瑩從小學開始學習色士風, 其後於音樂事務處繼續學習,師從凌閣顯老師。她畢業於香港中文大學,主修中文系, 副修歷史系,曾獲本科生「專題研究」科學術論文獎學金——古典文學學術論文獎。她其後於英國謝菲爾德大學修讀音樂表演研究碩士,師從Sarah Markham,期間獲得The Ralph Markham Achievement Award,並以優異成績畢業,及後再於聖三一拉邦音樂與舞蹈學院繼續深造色士風,師從Gerard McChrystal,完成研究生高級演奏文憑(PGAD)後回港,在學期間,她考獲倫敦聖三一學院的演奏級院士文憑(Fellowship, FTCL)。
時珮瑩表演經驗豐富,從小活躍於不同音樂團體, 多次參加本地及國外的演出和比賽。她曾經在香港大會堂舉行音樂會,表演獨奏及重奏,也曾在謝菲爾德教堂獨奏。 過去多年,除了隨謝菲爾德管樂團到德國交流,也曾經隨香港青年管樂團到日本及韓國交流, 以及隨香港中文大學崇基管樂團到深圳交流等,她於北京大學作交換生期間亦活躍於北大中樂學社及樂團。
除了色士風, 她亦考獲中央音樂學院中國笛子九級以及鋼琴八級, 教學經驗豐富。
